Labrador-Grenfell Health has expanded its COVID-19 testing protocols to include asymptomatic people who have traveled back into the jurisdiction from the St. John’s-metro area in the last two weeks.
Many Indigenous communities in Labrador are considered to be high-risk for COVID-19, and protecting such areas has been of particular concern throughout the entirety of the pandemic.
As such, anyone who has returned from the St. John’s-metro region, including those who returned within the last two weeks, must receive a COVID-test. This includes those who have not been identified as close contacts of a known case, and those who are asymptomatic.
Testing will be available at sites throughout Labrador-Grenfell Health tomorrow and on Thursday.
- Happy Valley-Goose Bay and surrounding area: Pentecostal Church, 250 Hamilton River Rd – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- St. Anthony and surrounding area: Apt 209, 178-200 West St. (back of old hospital) – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Labrador City and Wabush: Labrador West Health Center (back entrance) – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- All other communities and sites: Book an appointment through 811 or by completing an online self-assessment and selecting yes to “do you require a COVID-19 test as a result of an advisory from Public Health?”
Anyone booking an appointment, and has an available printer, is asked to fill out the intake form at this link.
