We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Person. This is full time permanent position. This position involves evenings & weekends at this time and preference will be given to candidates with painting & plastering experience. (A Valid Open Work permit is required.)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Must have extensive experience in painting, plastering, wall vinyl hanging & repairs.
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment;
- Professional ability to perform carpentry duties (shelving, cupboards, wood trim, repairs, moldings, repairs of tables, counters, benches etc.);
- Responsible for professional painting and plastering, repairing of walls, ceilings, floors, commercial vinyl, wallpaper;
- Able to repair furniture, upholstery, fabrics, carpets, and small equipment; (motors, vacuums, valves, pumps, fittings, HVAC units, light ballasts etc.)
- Responsible for repairing, electronic programming and installing of electronic and hard key locks;
- Inspect and check HVAC equipment to ensure everything is working properly; preventative maintenance checks.
- Inspect & maintain all swimming pool equipment, chemicals, and preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for responding to fire or other building emergencies and acting accordingly to minimize loss or damage
- Responding to Guests requests, events or emergencies.
- Maintain records, logs, entries of all Preventative Maintenance duties, HOTEL PM program
- To maintain Hotel standards at all times;
- This position is an essential part of the Emergency Response Team
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Journeyman’s level or equivalent experience in one or more of the following Required: carpentry, plumbing, painting, vinyl, pool operator, mechanical or an equivalent & acceptable combination of education/ professional or commercial experience.
- Confined Space, WHIMS 2022, Lock out / Tag Out, Fall Arrest, Aerial Platform, First Aid certificates an asset, and will be required upon hire.
- Blue Print reading certificate an asset
- Must be in excellent physical condition; HEAVY LIFTING REQUIRED.
- Must be a responsible, organized individual who can work with minimum to no supervision;
- Must be honest, reliable and dependable and practice good hygiene and appearance
- Must demonstrate behavior consistent with core values;
- Must possess a current emergency first aid and CPR certificate;
- Must be a team orientated individual with good interpersonal skills.

- Involves night shifts, weekends, on call as required.
