JAG Hotel is looking for an experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager who is a
dynamic leader with the ability to motivate others to join our senior management team. The
position will oversee and manage all food and beverage operations within the hotel,
encompassing the restaurant, bar, lounge area, coffee shop, and banquets, to ensure high-quality
service, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assuming overall responsibility for the food & beverage departments, while also
overseeing hotel operations when required
• Ensuring the highest standards are met or exceeded
• Directly reports to the Food and Beverage Manager, providing regular updates on
performance, budgets, guest feedback, and team dynamics
• Overseeing the management of the food and beverage to ensure events, conferences, and
culinary offerings meet expectations and align with annual budgets
• Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to develop and implement pricing and
inventory strategies while monitoring and controlling food and beverage costs to
maximize profitability and implement cost-effective strategies without compromising
quality
• Oversee and participate in the Occupational Health and Safety Committee
• Report to the food and beverage manager regarding sales results, productivity and staffing
• Monthly inventory counts on the 1st day of every month
• Assist with and prepare reports, monitor revenues and expenses
• Ordering supplies, tracking inventory, and completing the month-end count and control
• Purchase and control of inventory. Adhere to budgets and meet financial targets
• negotiate with clients for use of facilities for catering, parties, banquets, etc.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead an experienced team conducting performance reviews,
coaching, guidance, and any progressive discipline required
• Collaborate with chefs to plan and develop specialized menus for events
• Ensure Banquet Managers and Captains are coordinating logistics, including staffing,
catering, décor, audio-visual requirements, and other event-related services
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, including health and safety
• Ensure excellent customer service and address customer feedback and complaints
• Continuously evaluate and drive financial performance, aligning with budgets,
forecasting, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective measures
• Other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
• Extensive experience in a managerial role within the luxury hotel segment, with a proven
track record of success
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing F&B, banqueting, with banquet facilities for
over 500
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience in recruiting, training, and mentoring large
teams
• Ability to drive financial performance, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L
analysis
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to forge strong
relationships both internally and externally
• Strategic thinker with the capacity to handle complex situations and make informed
decisions
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality, Food Service Management, Business
Administration, or a related field is an asset
