Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club offers food service, 100 Person clubhouse lounge.
We are looking for an energetic, dynamic and well organized person for the this role in our food establishment. The successful candidate must have line cook and catering experience that has great new ideas and a modern flare in the development of menus for the enjoyment of our members and guest.
We offer our members an upscale dining experience and what to keep that momentum therefore we are seeking a chef that has experience in a fast past kitchen and takes pride in cooking, presentation and an keen eye for food and labour cost.
The candidate to work along with other with the same goals in mind, to be of service to our members, with a no problem my pleasure attitude.
Responsibilities and Skills will include:
  • Outstanding cooking skills
  • Real creativity when it comes to food, experience with line cooking
  • Exceptional Plating Skills
  • Some Baking Skills
  • Ability to help create menus that are innovative and cost effective
  • Liaising with the relevant companies to place food orders
  • Monitoring and controlling stock levels, ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed
  • Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen
  • Estimating costs and ensuring all purchases and Labor come within budget
  • Overseeing kitchen staff and scheduling
  • Taking Inventory as required
  • The ability to delegate tasks
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen
  • Help with the development of menus and provide costing BBQs, banquets, restaurant menu, and luncheons, Christmas events, wedding etc.
  • Follow a Labor and food cost budget.
Preparing for day to day food service, a big part of operation are events large and small hosting BBQs, catered events, fine dining, theme nights, etc.
The successful candidate must have:
Minimum five years experience in food/hospitality Experience
Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills
Works well with others
A great leader
Punctual and flexible
Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent work ethic

Salary: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
