Objectives
· To strive to ensure the comfort, convenience, safety and enjoyment of hotel guests
· To meet or exceed the expectations of our guests with respect to overall service provided by the hotel
Duties and Responsibilities
· To respond to guest needs and requests promptly and courteously
· To process advance reservations (direct to hotel or from central reservations)
· To process guest arrivals and departures
· To process telephone calls (for reservations, guests, administration or general inquiries)
· To process restaurant charges, telephone charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts
· To process monetary transactions (cash, credit cards, INTERAC or direct billing)
· To record and process guest messages and wake up calls
· To maintain up-to-date guest room status, based on information relayed by housekeepers
· To provide general assistance and directions to guest with respect to the city, its attractions and its points of interest
· Where reasonable and possible, to assist guests with any special needs or requests
· To listen and respond to guest concerns or complaints, referring to the General Manager any issues which cannot be immediately resolved
· To balance all shift transactions in accordance with established procedures
· To maintain security of keys and cash
· To maintain work area clean and tidy
· Other duties as assigned from time to time
· Cashing VLT tickets and balancing VLT machines
· Balancing end of shift reports from all departments
· Follow procedure put in place for Night Audit
· Accounting knowledge needed
Requirements and Expectations
· Must have an outgoing personality and a demonstrable ease with oral communication with hotel guests
· Must have a good knowledge of Marystown & the Burin Peninsula, its attractions and its points of interest
· Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision, handling stressful situations in a positive manner
· Must be capable of using advanced computer software and hardware
· Must be available to work any scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends
· Must dress and groom according to standards established from time to time
· Knowledge of French is a definite asset
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.23-$18.24 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 40 per week
