JAG Hotel is looking for an Assistant General Manager who is a dynamic leader managing a
wide range of responsibilities with experience in spearheading grand openings and the ability to
address the unique needs of a new hotel to ensure success in the market.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assuming overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the hotel, while also
overseeing food and beverage operations when required
• Ensuring the highest standards are met or exceeded
• Directly reports to the General Manager, providing regular updates on performance,
budgets, guest feedback, and team dynamics
• Collaborate with the executive management team to develop and implement pricing and
inventory strategies
• Recruit, mentor, and lead an experienced team
• Oversee and participate in Occupational Health and Safety Committee
• Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce
desired results
• Manages the guest experience, reviews guest feedback with the leadership team, and
ensures appropriate corrective action is taken
• Manages and conducts human resources activities on reporting staff members, ensuring
employees are treated fairly and equitably
• Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using performance reviews, regular checkins, constructive feedback, and employee appreciation strategies
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards including health and safety
• Collaborate with the marketing and sales team to ensure the hotel maintains a strong
presence in both local and international markets
• Other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
• Extensive experience in a managerial role within the luxury hotel segment, with a proven
track record of success
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing hotel operations and guestrooms over 200
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience in recruiting, training, and mentoring large
teams
• Ability to drive financial performance, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L
analysis
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to forge strong
relationships both internally and externally
• Strategic thinker with the capacity to handle complex situations and make informed
decisions
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a
related field is an asset
• Passionate about the hotel industry and committed to delivering unparalleled guest
