    Full Job Description

    The Super 8 by Wyndham St. John's Hotel is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Guest Services team. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy going personality with a high level of professionalism and effective decision making, while also being very perceptive and disciplined. A customer-oriented approach is essential.

    Must be available to work evenings, overnights on occasion, weekends and holidays.

    Knowledge of PMS Opera Cloud an asset

    Necessary Skills

    • Exceptional customer service skills are a necessity, including the ability to handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
    • Previous computer experience mandatory – including but not limited to internet and e-mail.
    • Accuracy in handling cash and credit card/debit card transactions. Ability to follow all company policies and procedures
    • Ability to work well in a team situation, as well as being able to work independently with little supervision.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, while being detail oriented. Applicant must display problem-solving skills.
    • Applicant must have an exemplary record of attendance in previous employ and positive recommendations
    • Pleasant, friendly personality combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Applicant must be available to work day and evening shifts, weekend shifts and night shifts as emergency situations dictate.
    • Applicant will display some sales skills in a reservations environment.


    • Check-in/check-out guests;
    • Handle cash transactions and balance daily cash flow;
    • Meet and greet guests providing necessary information to ensure a satisfactory stay;
    • Take guest reservations and explain in detail rates, rooms and outlets;
    • Sell and up sell rooms and property in general;
    • Work closely and assist Houskeeping and all departments
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers


    • 1-3 years in the hospitality industry is considered a strong asset.
    • Basic accounting skills would be considered an asset.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

    Salary: Up to $15.50 per hour
