General Purpose
Ensure the comfort, convenience, safety and enjoyment of hotel guests and patrons in meeting and banquet rooms by the high standard set by the company. The position involves a fast pace; effective time management skills and efficiency to help the company move forward. Friendly, motivated customer service-oriented individuals. The position involves attention to detail and great sense of accomplishment for doing a great job. Our goal is to ensure our guests feel a WOW factor when stepping into our hotel.
Responsibilities
Respond to guest needs and requests promptly and courteously
Assist hotel guests with luggage, carts, wheelchairs, etc., as required
Provide additional services to hotel guests (i.e. towels, cribs, rollaway beds, etc.), as required
Perform light maintenance in guest rooms when maintenance personnel are not available (e.g. addressing problems with televisions, lights, beds, toilets, etc.)
Assist guests with any special needs or requests, where reasonable and possible
Ensure preparedness of meeting and banquet rooms prior to scheduled functions
Set up and tear down meeting rooms, exclusive of setting tables for food service
Clean, refresh and/or re-set meeting rooms during breaks
Properly maintain and store all furniture and equipment used in meeting rooms
Snow clearing and salting as required (seasonal)
Vacuum, sweep or mop all public areas of the hotel, exclusive of guest room corridors and restaurant (includes meeting and banquet rooms, lobby, public washrooms and offices), as required
Perform regular security/cleanliness checks of all interior corridors, stairwells, entrances and exits, as well as exterior grounds and parking lots
Assist restaurant staff with delivery of room service, as time permits
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Neat and clean in appearance and work habits
Exceptional attention to detail
Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, bend and lift
Ability to communicate with guests; ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to accept direction
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred
6-month minimum experience in general building maintenance
