The time of COVID-19 brings new fears and challenges to our lives. We analyze how the spread of this virus brought about - and renewed - discrimination towards East-Asian communities. This concise 20-minute workshop will walk through accounts of racism in Canadian history, direct and indirect racism when the virus first arrived in Canada, and how to identify 'new racism'. We take lessons from the journey of refugees as we navigate quarantine, and learn how to practice 'cultural humility'. This module, which will be lead by Renata Lang, ANC’s Business Diversity Officer, is designed for everyone.
