Meet the Speakers
Debbie Curtis is a Provincial Mental Health and Addictions Consultant with the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Health and Community Services. Debbie is a registered Social Worker and has a Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Business Administration from Memorial University. Debbie has worked as an Addictions Counsellor and Disability Management Consultant, and in human resources.
Meghan Churchill is the Provincial E-Mental Health manager for Newfoundland and Labrador. She works with the regional E- Mental Health Managers across the province to research, develop, manage, and promote the large number of virtual mental health supports we have in our province. Meghan has a Master degree in Social Work and is a registered Social Worker.
Barry Hewitt is the Systems Navigator in Mental Health and Addictions for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Barry has a B.SC. (Psychology) from Memorial University, BSW from Dalhousie University and MSW (Specializing in Addictions) from University of Toronto. Barry has over 25 years as working as a social worker throughout the province and in Nova Scotia.
Brad Glynn is the Executive Director of CHANNAL, a non-profit provincial organization created by and for individuals living with mental health and addictions issues. CHANNAL’s mission is to inspire hope for recovery and improve the quality of life for individuals living with mental health and addictions issues and their supporters. They do this through peer support, public education and policy consultation.
