- Research existing and new acquisitions via the internet, print material and personal interviews.
- Document findings in a hard copy catalog form and synchronize information in a computerized database.
- Accession newly accepted acquisitions using proper labeling, documentation and storage protocols.
- Assist in researching information requests from the public and other institutions.
- Greet guests and take telephone calls in a friendly, professional manner.
- Operate cash register and related retail software.
- Accept admission payments and process cash and credit card sales.
- Book tours and lead tour groups of up to 50 people, providing accurate information on exhibits, pointing out interesting features and answering related questions.
- Monitor visitors to ensure their needs are being met and assist them with directions and information on other local/regional services, events and attractions.
- Light cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure proper appearance of displays, washrooms, building and grounds.
- Occasionally open or close the Museum.
