Salary Information

CG20 - $38,693.20 - $41,969.20 per annum.

About the Position

The Food Service Worker will perform standardized food services work for College of the North Atlantic’s Bay St. George campus by:

· Assisting with preparation work in the kitchen – chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and setting up food stations.

· Reheating and serving meals – safely reheat meals following food safety practices and present meals in an appetizing manner.

· Cleaning and sanitizing work stations – regularly wiping surfaces, sanitizing high-touch areas, ensuring that the kitchen meets food safety and occupational health standards.

· Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment – properly sanitize and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.

· Operating a computerized cash register – process cash, debit, and credit transactions, and provide professional customer service.

· Other duties as it relates to food service may be required.

· Graduation from high school.

· Relevant experience working in an institutional and/or industrial kitchen.

Assessment Criteria

· Knowledge of the food service industry including food safety and sanitation.

· Knowledge of a computerized cash register/system.

· Organizational/time management skills.

· Problem-solving skills.

· Work effectively as part of a team.

· When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.

Conditions of Acceptance

· May require periods of kneeling, bending, walking and standing, which may result in fatigue; lifting and moving of objects; and occasionally using machinery and equipment.

· Shift work and weekend work is required.
