We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team and create a delightful array of baked goods, including but not exclusively breads, rolls, and desserts. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for baking, a flair for creativity in product development, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness in the kitchen.

As a Baker, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and refining recipes while performing quality checks on both ingredients and finished products..

Your ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while focusing on food quality and customer satisfaction will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

Baker Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of baking operations to ensure both quality and profitability.
  • Manage inventory levels and necessary supplies to support production needs.
  • Supervise and direct production staff to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Assess the quality of raw materials prior to baking to ensure high standards.
  • Conduct research and develop original recipes for new products.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of baking utensils and equipment.

Requirements and skills

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • High school education or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in baking or pastry is essential.

Skills:

  • Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in reading and accurately following recipes.
  • Flexibility to accommodate customer demands, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Creativity and artistic skills for decorating baked goods.
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and ovens.
  • Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.

Experience:

  • Experience in a bakery or restaurant setting is required
  • Experience with cake decoration techniques is beneficial.

Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in safely and effectively operating standard foodservice equipment.
  • Adaptability and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
