Sales Manager- Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton St. John's Airport - Newfoundland

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton St. John's Airport Newfoundland is seeking for a dynamic Sales Manager. The Sales Manager will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the Corporate Director of Sales. This role requires both independence in generating sales as well as collaboration with other departments to achieve business objectives. While there may be opportunities to lead initiatives, this position requires a proactive, self-motivated approach to managing accounts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Proactively solicits and qualifies new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, and client entertainment.
- Conducts targeted account research to determine revenue potential.
- Participates in daily business review meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.
- Collaborates with the Revenue Management team to optimize pricing strategies and negotiate contracts in line with the hotel’s revenue goals.
- Analyzes market trends, competition, and customer behavior to ensure the hotel remains competitive in the local market.
- Works with marketing to promote targeted campaigns, special offers, and industry partnerships to drive business.
- Responds to sales leads and clients’ requests within 2 hours.
- Prepares and customizes sales presentations and proposals to meet client’s needs.
- Works in harmony with other departments to execute group bookings and catering events.
- Produces quarterly plans and weekly reports with strategies to achieve activity targets and annual revenue goals.
- Coordinates sales trips to key market areas (local or regional), maintaining close relationships with clients.
- Tracks performance metrics and booking trends using CRM tools.
- Monitors and assesses service and satisfaction trends, evaluates and addresses issues, and implements improvements.
- Performs weekly MOD shifts as needed.
- Ensures adherence to Manga Hotel policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel sales
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Experience with CRM and PMS systems. Familiarity with Salesforce platform.
- Proficiency in analyzing data to track performance metrics, booking patterns, and market trends.
- Strong understanding of revenue management and pricing strategies, ideally in collaboration with a Revenue Management team.
- A positive, energetic, and outgoing attitude, with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel for client appointments.
- University/College degree in a related discipline is preferred.
Sales Goals: The Sales Manager is expected to focus on generating revenue from corporate accounts, group sales, and transient bookings. Success in this role will be measured by achieving specific revenue targets, growth in market share, and meeting key performance indicators.

Pay: $1.00-$2.00 per year
