The position will require working a minimum of 2 shifts a week from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Monday and Tuesdays. This position has minimal supervision and requires an individual that is very dependable and responsible. Other opportunities to work more shifts are available for vacation coverage or to cover cleaning guest rooms during the day.

ln the role of Overnight Houseperson, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the Hotel’s guest public spaces, assisting with Room Attendant supplies and when needed, guest luggage assistance with an objective to create 100% Guest & Associate Satisfaction. You will provide genuine service, and by exceeding guest expectations, assist the Hotel in achieving both financial and service goals. All service provided is expected to be consistent with the Hotel standard and SilverBirch Hotel & Resorts standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Clean all public areas including but not limited to vacuum, mop, dust etc. Areas include lobby, breakfast room, public washrooms, fitness room, pool area, banquet area, stairwells, elevators, administration offices and all areas as designated.
  • Cleaning/vacuuming of guest room corridors daily.
  • Removal and washing of all guest room glassware and return to room attendants for daily use.
  • Clean all aspects of pool area. Ensure safety of area by monitoring pool chemicals and adjusting as required.
  • Use of equipment including carpet cleaners (small and large), auto scrubber and steamer
  • Assists guests with baggage
  • Receive deliveries and shipments. Restock items to appropriate areas.
  • Assist room attendants by removing used bed linens and towels, empty garbage.
  • Load dirty linen into laundry chute.
  • Collect all garbage from Room Attendants and place in dumpster.
  • Delivers phone messages, mail or packages, telegrams, flowers, etc., to customer rooms
  • Collect and return outgoing customer laundry and dry cleaning
  • Clean windows
  • Clean outside hotel area and parking lot.
  • Special deep cleaning projects as assigned
  • Conduct random and frequent security checks of hotel parking lot, hotel perimeter and all common areas
  • Performs banquet set ups for the following days functions as needed
  • Know and be able to carry out hotel emergency procedures including emergency evacuation, guest or employee injury and reporting safety and security issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.05-$18.55 per hour
