DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Town is seeking an enthusiastic Communications and Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This multifaceted role will be responsible for creating compelling content, managing social media platforms, providing photography services, writing newsletters, and assisting in the development of advertisements and other communication products. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in government relations while showcasing creative skills and contributing to the promotion of successful events.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, creating engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including social media platforms, websites, newspapers, press releases, and other communication materials; managing and maintaining the Town’s social media presence, including content creation and scheduling; providing professional photography services for municipal events, projects, facilities, and community activities; writing, editing, and designing the municipality's newsletter, ensuring timely and relevant information is communicated to residents and stakeholders; assisting in developing and executing marketing and advertising campaigns to promote municipal initiatives, events, and programs; and supporting the Communications division in various tasks, including media relations, event coordination, community outreach, and crisis communication.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Previous experience in communications, marketing, content creation, social media management, photography, or a similar role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different platforms and target audiences.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems, with a strong understanding of social media best practices and analytics.
- Proficiency in photography skills, including event photography, editing, and post-production.
- Creative mindset and ability to develop innovative and visually appealing content.
- Proficiency in graphic design software and tools is a plus.
