We are currently seeking the services of an experienced Director of Corporate Services to work closely with our senior management team while being responsible for the leadership and operation of the core support and administrative services for the town organization covering financial operations, human resources, information technology, procurement and communications.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Director will be responsible for providing services and programs to enable our staff complement of about 65 to feel valued so they can best serve our town population of approximately 8,000 citizens. The scope of responsibility for the Director is influential and critical to ensuring efficient and high-quality corporate services within the organization.

The successful candidate in this senior leadership position will be someone who has attained a minimum education level of a university degree in business or related field, ideally supplemented with an accounting designation. An exceptional candidate with other applicable education and extensive knowledge and experience in finance, accounting or human resources may be considered. Ideally, the Director of Corporate Services will bring demonstrated knowledge and experience in multiple areas of municipal administration and leadership.

Technical skills and intangible attributes such as a high level of emotional intelligence, excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, and time management skills will be essential to deliver results and effectively interact and build partnerships with staff, town councillors, community members and other stakeholders.

Strategic planning skills with a focus on accountability and an employee-centred approach to program and policy development will be critical for leading the corporate services team and ensuring desired outcomes. A high degree of initiative and independence is required while also recognizing the importance of collaboration in building quality teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications is required. Preparing written reports, managing the Town budget, engaging with auditors and union officials and providing regular updates to the CAO and Council will be necessary in the role. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clear driver’s abstract, as well as a satisfactory conduct certificate from the RCMP, and a Provincial Court Check.
