Position: Food Security Programs Coordinator
Term: Full Time, Permanent
Community: Nain, NL

Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource person, to support and assist program staff with community food security program delivery
- Deliver community food security programs as required
- Support program staff to develop workplans, budgets and monthly activity calendars
- Recruit and support volunteers for various food programs
- Plan and implement program evaluation, including the development and monitoring of indicators and performance measures to inform the evaluation of the Nunatsiavut Food Security Strategy
- Support program staff with regular and ongoing evaluation and reporting by creating templates, ensuring follow-up and providing feedback
- Oversee food and supply inventory for food security programs, track expenditures, and prepare food and supply purchases using approved procurement processes
- Coordinate training opportunities for food security program staff
- Promote food programs and initiatives to keep the public informed of various food programs and services
- Keep the Food Security social media account. Work with Communications to develop appropriate content to promote program areas and opportunities
- Travel within the region to support activities in all communities as required as well as some travel outside the region as required
- Training and in servicing as required.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Community Leadership Development diploma with 3-5 years of related experience. Relevant Education and/or experience will be considered.
- Experience developing and delivering health related programs or projects
- Ability to think strategically, focus on multiple activities and integrate best practices related to food security with Inuit values & practices.
- Demonstrated work experience in health promotion and working knowledge of the social determinants of health, nutrition and community engagement.
- Excellent communication (oral & written), interpersonal and teambuilding skills required to develop effective working relationships with staff, communities and partner agencies.
- Knowledge of word-processing, internet research and use of social media for social marketing and service delivery
- Experience with developing and implementing evaluation
