Way up north in the Wapusakatto Mountains, you'll find Western Labrador's Ski and Snowboard Resort, Smokey Mountain Ski Club. Since 1961, we've been hitting the slopes and sharing our love of skiing and snowboarding with the communities of Labrador West and visitors from around the globe.

Position Overview:

The Bar Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the bar and beverage service to create a welcoming and energetic après-ski environment. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining inventory while fostering a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

· Oversee daily bar operations, including opening, closing, and shift management.

· Ensure compliance with all liquor laws, health, and safety regulations.

· Develop and maintain efficient workflows to handle high-volume service during peak times.

· Create a warm, engaging, and lively après-ski atmosphere.

· Monitor guest satisfaction and address issues promptly.

· Innovate seasonal drink menus, focusing on signature cocktails and local beverages to enhance the ski hill experience.

· Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a team of bartenders and support staff.

· Foster a positive team culture with a focus on teamwork and exceptional service.

· Provide ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.

· Manage ordering, inventory, and storage of beverages and supplies.

· Control costs through effective inventory management and minimizing waste.

· Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing and maintain strong supplier relationships.

· Work with the events team to host après-ski parties, live music, and other activities.

· Ensure the bar supports and complements the resort's seasonal events and promotions.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Proven experience as a bar manager or in a similar leadership role.

· Strong knowledge of mixology, beer, wine, and spirits.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills.

· Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory software.

· Passion for winter sports and familiarity with ski hill culture is a plus
