Home from The Sea Foundation operates the John C. Crosbie Sealers Interpretation Centre and Memorial Site in Elliston. The Foundation is seeking an individual to fill the Manager’s role. The Manager reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the successful management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The organization is seeking a dynamic individual with proven leadership. The individual must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral; foster teamwork and effective relationships both within the organization and with external stakeholders; have knowledge of financial management; be proficient in computer programs and social media tools; and have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This skill set would normally be found through the completion of a post-secondary education program in a Business or Leadership Development field with experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

- Complete day-to-day banking and manage budgets, financial planning and reporting
- Recruit and supervise staff
- Utilize social media tools to market the organization
- Oversee the planning and implementation of the Centre’s programs and services
- Complete funding applications and grants
- Work closely with stakeholders including funders, Department of Tourism, Destination Marketing Organization, regional groups, and community in general.
