Landwash Brewery was founded in 2018 in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. We brew flavour-forward beers inspired by modern American craft beer and serve it in our beer-hall style taproom where you can also grab some food from Johnny and Mae's. We can be found in NLC, Maries Mini Mart, and other C-Store locations, as well as bar and restaurant partners across the province! We operate a big beer garden party all summer long at the Wharf at Quidi Vidi!
The Job:
Landwash is looking for an enthusiastic, beer loving, and experienced Wharf Manager for this season of the Wharf at Quidi Vidi. This is a full-time, seasonal role managing a dynamic, weather dependent, and vibrant pop-up community of food trucks, ice cream shop, and new part-time staff. The successful candidate will lead and work with the management team in planning and execution of the beer garden, ice cream shop, events, hiring staff, and maintaining operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Developing the staff schedule
- Fostering a positive, fun, and safe environment for the hospitality team
- Maintaining inventory of beer garden and Pearlside ice cream shop requirements
- Training new and existing staff in proper and safe techniques for service, opening and closing, and cleaning
- Participating in all hiring of new hospitality team members
- Coordinating and communicating with multiple food vendors, such as food trucks
- Scheduling and communicating various requests for events at the Wharf and overseeing successful fulfilment of such events
- Coordinating with the marketing team to meet Landwash's marketing goals at the Wharf and contributing to social media content generation
- Creating and managing follow through of events at the Wharf
- Managing the operational oversight of the on-site ice cream stand, including staffing and inventory management
Who are you?
- Love and knowledge of craft beer, especially Newfoundland and Labrador craft beer
- Happy working with a team and comfortable working without supervision
- Able to take direction to work safely
- 19+ years old
- Comfortable working outdoors and standing for long periods of time
- Experience working in a bar or restaurant or high-volume bar setting, ideally with experience managing a team within
- Experience coordinating events
- Ability to safely lift and manoeuvre kegs
- Cicerone or other beer training considered a strong asset
