About Keyin College
Keyin College is one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s leading post-secondary institutions, dedicated to empowering students through innovation, skills development, and transformative learning. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Full-Time Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Instructor to deliver engaging, practical, and learner-focused instruction in our safety training programs.
The Role
As an instructor, you will support students by delivering course material aligned with current OHS legislation, industry standards, and best practices. You will contribute to student success through interactive learning, skills development, and meaningful coaching, while helping prepare graduates for careers in occupational health and safety across a variety of industries.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver classroom instruction in our Occupational Health & Safety program
- Support students through coaching, mentorship, and academic guidance
- Develop lesson plans, activities, assessments, and practical learning experiences
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course outcomes
- Stay current with industry changes, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Collaborate with academic leadership and faculty teams to enhance program quality
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 2 years of Occupational Health & Safety experience in an industry setting
- Strong understanding of OHS legislation, regulations, and best practices (provincial and/or federal)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support adult learners
- Comfort using technology for instruction (e.g., Microsoft Office, learning platforms, online delivery tools)
- A professional, safety-first approach and the ability to model strong safety leadership
- Prior teaching, training, facilitation, or instructional experience is considered an asset
