Position: General Manager
Position Type: Full-time Seasonal, possibility for extension / part-time off-season
Location: 21-35 Harbour Drive, Rocky Harbour, NL
Start Date: Available immediately
Salary: To be determined based on experience
 
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the business including food and beverage, customer service and accommodations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in restaurant management and hospitality, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and high-quality offerings. This role requires effective leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the food and beverage operations, including staffing, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • Supervise and train staff in food preparation techniques, customer service practices, and cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  • Assist with developing menus that reflect current trends while meeting customer preferences and dietary needs.
  • Oversee the operation of Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
  • Conduct interviews and hire new team members while fostering a positive work environment that encourages staff development.
  • Monitor guest feedback to enhance service quality and address any concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and other staff to ensure seamless operations during events or peak service periods.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum 2-years experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the hospitality industry is essential.
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality management would be considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety regulations, and cash handling processes.
  • Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
