Job Title: Part-Time Baker
Job Summary: The Majestic Theatre and Theatre Hill are seeking a skilled and passionate Part-Time Baker to join our team. As a Cafe Baker, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of delicious treats. The ideal candidate should have previous baking experience, excellent attention to detail, and a creative flair for experimenting with flavors and ingredients. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, including but not limited to scones, loaves, cookies, and squares.
- Develop and cost out a consistent menu for the cafe.
- Follow developed recipes and baking techniques to ensure consistency and quality in all products.
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to achieve desired results.
- Present baked goods in an appealing manner, adhering to the cafe's aesthetic and quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, and notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Collaborate with cafe team members to coordinate baking schedules and fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Keep work area clean and organized, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve baking techniques, explore new recipes, and contribute creative ideas to the cafe's menu development.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker or pastry chef in a cafe, bakery, or similar food service establishment.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient measurements, and recipe execution.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistently delicious baked goods.
- Creative flair for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentations.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients, calculating recipe quantities, and costing out items.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Effective communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Certification in food safety.
