Be part of the Ocean View team at Gros Morne’s busiest restaurant and lounge. The Ocean View Hotel in Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Bartender. This position will involve designing and providing exceptional guest experiences with cocktail, mocktail, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverage offerings at the Ocean View’s Oceans Dining Room, Anchor Pub and Deck. Extensive knowledge of mixology, wines and previous experience in a busy lounge/restaurant are essential.
The Ocean View Hotel has a 130-seat dining room and 150-seat show lounge. Both venues have large deck spaces overlooking the Rocky Harbour waterfront and are a favourite with visitors to the region. We cater to multiple motor coach groups daily and offer sold out entertainment events seven nights per week. Our ideal candidate will help design and coordinate our team’s delivery of exceptional experiences with our beverage offerings to accompany foodservice in both restaurants.
Responsibilities:
Design, create, prepare and serve a wide range of beverages including coffee, cappuccinos, cocktails, local Newfoundland beer and spirits, wine and non-alcoholic offerings.
Maintain stock and keep a high level of cleanliness and organization in the bar areas.
Collaborate and train with the F & B team (cooks, servers and bartenders) to ensure exceptional guest service and optimal food pairings.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a large busy lounge/restaurant setting.
Excellent knowledge of cocktail/mocktail creation, flavor balancing, beer and wine selection.
Ability to work efficiently with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
