Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.
Steele Hotels is looking for an Aesthetician to join our growing team at JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL.
The Aesthetician is responsible for providing clients with skin and body care treatments aimed at enhancing and rejuvenating their appearance. They should have a comprehensive understanding of skin health, exceptional facial massage techniques, and the ability to deliver personalized skin treatments and tailored skincare recommendations based on individual skin conditions. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of products and services to effectively offer wellness and beauty solutions that cater to the unique needs of our guests.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent professional facial/body treatments in accordance with Wellness Center protocols and accepted certification practices
- Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product in accordance with quality assurance/quality control
- Educate and inform guests of their skin care needs
- Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals
- Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the Wellness Center’s policies and procedures
- Perform prep work and properly clean and restock the room, as required
- Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Wellness Center that require attention
- Actively promote the Wellness Center, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available at the Wellness Center
- Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously, ensuring complete guest satisfaction
- Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the Wellness Center
- Assist in all areas of Wellness Center operation, as requested by management
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- A current aesthetic diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is required
- A minimum of 2 years experience as an Aesthetician is considered an asset
- Have enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge
- Must be a team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Required to be on your feet 80-100% of your shift
- Ability to perform extensive walking, bending, kneeling, lifting to 25lbs, reaching, and stretching
- Must be able to work shifts, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
