AV Consultant

Job Description

Steele Hotels is seeking a full-time permanent AV Consultant to join our team JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL.

The AV Consultant is responsible for managing the pricing, design, and coordination of IT and audio-visual services for client events at JAG Hotel. This role ensures optimal utilization of AV resources and equipment while providing exceptional service to meet client needs. The AV Consultant will work closely with the conference, events, logistics, and procurement teams to manage multiple conferences simultaneously, ensuring seamless event execution.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Client Support and Event Design

  • Collaborate with clients to understand AV and IT requirements for conferences and events.
  • Develop custom AV and IT solutions tailored to individual client needs.
  • Provide professional recommendations for equipment usage and event setup.
  • Prepare and present quotes for AV services and equipment usage, ensuring competitive pricing.

Coordination and Resource Management

  • Schedule and manage AV resources to accommodate multiple events while maximizing efficiency.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to plan event logistics and ensure timely delivery of AV setups.
  • Monitor equipment availability and usage, preventing scheduling conflicts or overbooking.

Technical Expertise

  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV and IT equipment during events.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions during conferences.
  • Stay updated on the latest AV and IT technologies to enhance service offerings.

Logistics and Procurement

  • Work with the procurement team to maintain AV and IT equipment inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to upgrade or acquire new technology to meet client expectations.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure all AV components and client setups are in place for events.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of AV equipment usage and client charges.
  • Provide post-event feedback and recommendations for improving AV services.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports on AV resource utilization and client satisfaction.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

  • 2-3 years of experience in AV consulting, event coordination, or technical support.
  • Diploma or degree in Audio-Visual Technology, IT, or a related field is an asset
  • Experience in the hospitality or events industry is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of AV equipment and IT systems (e.g., sound systems, projectors, conferencing tools).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication abilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and event planning tools is an asset.
