Steele Hotels is looking for a full-time Cleaner in St. John’s, NL to clean several properties and businesses from Monday thru Friday with hours between 8:30-4:30 pm. This position will require someone with previous cleaning experience and the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and be responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. As this position will include multiple locations throughout the day, the successful applicant must have access to their own vehicle with a valid driver’s license. All cleanings supplies and equipment will be provided.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around residences or office buildings
- Cleans floors and rooms, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows
- Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals
- Cleaning all equipment in the facility, as required
- Cleaning and disinfecting all surface areas, including bathrooms, common kitchens, desks, and conference rooms
- Monitors and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
- Vacuums, empties trash, and replaces liners
- Sets up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
- Iron and press clothing and linens to ensure they are wrinkle-free and following garment care instructions
- Performs additional duties, as needed
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Previous cleaning experience is required
- A clear Criminal Record Screening Certificate
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and duties, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to complete physically demanding tasks
