Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include locations in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a seasonal, part-time Third Cook to join our growing team at the Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook, NL. The ideal candidate would possess a positive "can-do" attitude, a high level of professionalism, a strong work ethic, and will assist in menu preparation, cooking all menu items, baking, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring a quality clean kitchen environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook all menu items and features
• Proper portioning of ingredients
• Ensure all food service standards and quality requirements are met
• Ensure adequate inventory levels and communicate discrepancies to the Executive Chef
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, sanitized, and tidy, following all health and safety regulations
• Ensure operations level of profitability and client satisfaction is complied
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

• 1 year or more experience in the cooking industry with experience in a fast-paced restaurant food service operation
• Food Safety Course is an asset
• Experience working with large banquets
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with and without supervision
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
