Job Description

Job Summary:

Room Attendant cleans hotel guest rooms and/ or other assigned areas in a timely and organized manner to ensure guest satisfaction as per Company & Brand standard requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cleans and services assigned guest rooms in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards.
  • Notifies guest services (front desk) when service is complete so rooms may be sold. Reports any room unable to be serviced within appropriate time standards to supervisor.
  • Reports needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Responds to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintains linen cart and supplies neat and organized to department standards.
  • Maintains security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day.
  • Reports and logs lost and found articles to supervisor.
  • Follows procedures for standard cleaning and self-inspecting program.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.

Laundry Attendant would be responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service:

  • Perform all stages of linen processing, including, but not limited to, collecting, transporting, sorting, loading and unloading (washers, dryers and chutes), ironing, folding, storing and delivering
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry area
  • Maintain stock levels
  • Respond to guest service issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Follows company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional laundry services, as needed

Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous hotel cleaning experience
  • Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible schedule
  • Command of the English language, both written and oral
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Work well independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Self-motivated, honest, creative, capable of working in a team environment

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • St. John's, NL A1B 2N2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
