FULL-TIME POSITION
The Town of Fogo Island is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join its team. The successful applicant will

provide professional support and operation of the Town’s engineering and public works programs.

The primary purpose of the position is to facilitate the delivery of public works and water and sewer services to the
Town of Fogo Island. This position entails a variety of duties including water and sewer related duties (troubleshooting, maintenance, etc.), operation and maintenance of municipal vehicles, equipment, and other related maintenance required by the Town of Fogo Island. Assigned work may include repairs and standard procedures to ensure that all water and sewer systems are working correctly. In addition, this position entails working in adverse weather conditions to clear snow from Town roads, along with any other duties that may arise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provide safe and effective snow clearing and ice control service through the operation of snow clearing and ice control equipment in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
• Provide safe and effective operation of Council equipment for all designated services such as ditching, road maintenance, water and sewer infrastructure, or other duties.
• Provide emergency roadside repairs as required
• Provide safe and effective water and sewer services through the operation and maintenance of water supply and sewer pumping systems in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide preventative maintenance on all town equipment as per manufactures instructions and maintain garage inventories at a level to effectively perform the required maintenance.
• Other duties related to the position as assigned.
• This position entails on-call and weekends hours as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Possession of a valid Class 5, Class 3, and Class 8 driver license.
• Water Operator Level l an asset.
• Knowledge of OH&S Regulations an asset.
• Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to deal with the public in a respectful manner.

Background in mechanics would be an asset.
