Position Overview: The Hop On Hop Off Tour Driver is responsible for safely operating a 24 passenger minicoach, providing passengers with a comfortable and informative tour experience, while providing live narration. The driver will also be a key ambassador of our company, offering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a hop on hop off tour bus on designated routes throughout St. John's, following all traffic regulations and company guidelines.
- Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for passengers, assisting with boarding and answering questions about the tour and city attractions.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of the local area, including historical sites, cultural landmarks, and points of interest, to share with passengers.
- Ensure the bus is clean, well-maintained, and presentable at all times.
- Communicate with the operations team regarding any issues, delays, or incidents during the tour.
- Adhere to the company's safety policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of passengers, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Handle cash transactions and provide accurate change for ticket sales when necessary.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the tour experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 4 driver's license with a clean driving record. (If none, we can provide training)
- Previous experience driving buses or large vehicles preferred, preferably in a tourism or customer service setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Strong knowledge of St. John's and its attractions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays into September.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Ability to assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry light to moderate loads.
