  • About

The Keeper’s Kitchen grew from a deep desire to expose the natural beauty, culture, folklore, food-ways and heritage of the community of St. Shotts and Cape Pine Lighthouse as the ‘hidden gems’ that they are on the Southern Avalon.

Combining simplicity with authenticity, we aim to engage and excite the senses of our guests through food, music, stories and art because we believe that's the most fun way to learn about a place and its people.

Offering comfortable and modern accommodations in a fully restored home (2022), The Keeper's Kitchen offers 5 guest rooms and serves an 'above average' breakfast. Lunch and dinner (wine pairing option available) may also be booked in advance.

Additionally, we host Live entertainment events as well as art and cooking classes.

If you'd like to get up close with history and heritage, we can arrange a guided hiking tour to the ruins of Cape Freels Lighthouse and/or Cape Pine and Arnold's Cove Beach.

The Keeper’s Kitchen is approximately two-hours drive from the capital city of St. John's via the scenic Irish Loop along the southern shore or down through St. Mary's Bay.

We are ideally situated between Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site + Cape Race Lighthouse, and one of the best up-close shoreline places to whale watch in the province - St. Vincent’s Beach.

Contact us today to book your one-of-a-kind curated experience.
