Iceberg Quest is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and energetic Boat Tour Guide to join our team. As a tour guide, you will provide guests with an unforgettable experience as they explore Newfoundland’s stunning coastlines, towering icebergs, and abundant wildlife. You will be responsible for educating visitors about the natural history, marine life, and local culture while ensuring their safety and enjoyment during the tour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead guided boat tours, showcasing the beauty of Newfoundland’s icebergs, wildlife, and coastal scenery.
- Educate guests on the local marine life, as well as the historical significance of the region.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring guests’ comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout the tour.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations during the tour.
- Assist with stocking, cleaning, maintenance and docking, as needed.
- Manage guest inquiries and share local knowledge to enhance the tour experience.
- Work collaboratively and positively with the crew to ensure smooth operations.
- Promote the Iceberg Quest brand across each of its properties.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the outdoors, marine life, and Newfoundland’s natural beauty.
- Previous experience in tour guiding or customer service is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
- Strong English verbal skills required. Bilingual in French and English considered an asset.
- Musical abilities considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- MED/DVS considered an asset.
