We’re seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations at The Forager, our destination restaurant that celebrates Newfoundland’s foraged, wild, and locally sourced ingredients. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll also be expected to personally serve guests—ensuring a warm, personalized, and emotionally resonant dining experience that extends the retreat’s focus on romance and renewal.
About The Forager:
Under the creative leadership of Chef Jeremy Shaw, The Forager operates on a Sea, Forest, and Farm to Table philosophy, with seasonal menus inspired by the land and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador. Every meal is an opportunity to connect guests with nature and each other.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in daily front-of-house operations, setting the tone for 5-star service
- Serve guests directly, especially during peak meal periods, to uphold service excellence
- Train, schedule, and support a service team committed to delivering a high standard of care
- Maintain fine dining-level expectations for cleanliness, presentation, and professionalism
- Manage reservations, guest communications, and special dining requests
- Coordinate with the kitchen team for flawless timing and guest experience flow
- Support the delivery of romantic couple reconnection experiences that include meals, celebrations, and personalized service
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a restaurant manager or supervisor in a hospitality environment operating at a similar level
- A passion for exceptional service and personalized guest experiences
- Comfortable in a hands-on role that includes serving guests directly
- Strong leadership, training, and communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and service standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Interest in wellness, local cuisine, or foraged food is a bonus
