NOTE: This will be a Maternity leave replacement for a contracted period.

 


Primary Responsibilities

As a key member of our Sales & Catering team, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue, building client relationships, and ensuring seamless event execution. Your expertise and dedication will help create memorable experiences for our guests while achieving business goals.

 


Sales & Business Development:

  • Proactively prospect, solicit, and qualify new business opportunities to maximize hotel revenue.
  • Negotiate competitive rates for food & beverage, guest rooms, meeting spaces, and hotel services.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team booking goals for catering and conference services.
  • Build strong industry relationships by attending networking events and staying updated on market trends.

 


Event Coordination & Execution:

  • Oversee all aspects of group bookings, from contract negotiation to event completion, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Prepare and review catering contracts, banquet event orders, and key event documents with accuracy.
  • Work closely with hotel departments to deliver exceptional event experiences.
  • Lead pre- and post-conference meetings with clients and department heads to ensure smooth communication and adherence to brand standards.
  • Coordinate weekly Food & Beverage and Front Office team meetings to align on upcoming events.

 


Client Engagement & Service Excellence:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring hospitality, professionalism, and personalized service.
  • Conduct site inspections, special events, and off-site presentations to showcase the hotel's offerings.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and hotel teams, ensuring seamless event execution and repeat business.

 


Operational Excellence & Team Collaboration:

  • Utilize Lightspeed and CI/TY systems in compliance with brand standards.
  • Collaborate on projects, share insights, and support colleagues to contribute to the team's success.
  • Stay informed and continuously improve by participating in department meetings and training sessions.
  • Take on additional projects or duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Catering or General Manager.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

We’re looking for a passionate and results-driven professional with the following qualifications:

 


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hotel Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in event planning, conference services, or sales within a hospitality or food & beverage environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous hotel sales and catering experience is an asset.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage, build relationships, and deliver outstanding guest service.
  • Results-Driven Mindset: Enthusiastic, motivated, and goal-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Digital & Tech Proficiency: Experience in digital promotions, strong computer literacy in Microsoft programs, and excellent administrative organization.
  • Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of finance and budgeting to support sales and event planning.
