Job Description
SUMMARY

The Gift Shop Clerk provides customer service to gift shop customers, processes payments for products, stocks shelves and maintains store cleanliness.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains high customer service standard and provides strong customer service to customers
  • Responds to customer inquiries about products 
  • Processes payments of goods using electronic point-of-sale equipment
  • Follows merchandise display design plan in displaying products within the gift shop and on the shelves
  • Maintains gift shop cleanliness and security
  • Reviews merchandise received against purchase orders to ensure accuracy of merchandise and quantity received
  • Logs products sold to assist with inventory tracking
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Some high school education
  • Up to 1 year of retail store or customer service work experience, preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation along with good customer service skills
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Pleasant, courteous, professional attitude
  • Experience within a retail store, an asset
