We are seeking a FULL TIME Accounting Clerk to be a part of our Accounting team.

Scope:

Join our dynamic Accounting team and play a crucial role in supporting the Accounting Manager across key financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, food and beverage cost control, other revenue streams, and payroll processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to the smooth financial management of our hotel.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
 

1. Accounts Receivable:
  • Investigate and resolve credit card disputes, process adjustments/chargebacks as required, and balance daily credit card transmittals.
  • Approve and process direct billing requests, prepare invoices, and ensure prompt mailing of statements.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints regarding billings, prepare account adjustments for supervisory approval.
  • Monitor monthly aging of accounts, issue collection letters, and make follow-up calls for delinquent or overdue accounts.
  • Maintain organized accounts receivable documentation and provide clerical support as needed (typing, phone coverage).

 


2. Accounts Payable:
  • Match and verify invoices against purchase orders, checking quantities, prices, freight charges, and any special conditions. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process invoice payments through proper transmittals, obtain departmental approvals, and record entries in the ledger.
  • Prepare accruals for late-invoiced items, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded in the correct fiscal period. Reverse accruals when payments are made.
  • Handle billing disputes, complaints, and customer requests with professionalism.
  • Maintain organized files for all disbursement and accounts payable records, providing clerical support (typing, filing, phone coverage) as needed.

 


3. Food & Beverage Cost Control:
  • Assist with spot-checking monthly food and beverage inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Support spot-checking of china, glassware, silverware, and linen inventories monthly.
  • Verify month-end food and beverage credits and transfers.
  • Perform daily beer count calculations and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain and complete the daily/monthly beverage perpetual inventory.
